Background:

Kaitlyn grew up in the Northeast and has been a resident of NOVA for the past 8 years. She graduated from The Citadel with a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and has been working in the field for the past 17 years. She works with individuals ages 12 and up and uses a variety of evidenced-based practices. Some of her areas of expertise include trauma, eating disorders, military-related challenges, and dysfunctional relationship patterns.

Technique:

Kaitlyn takes an integrative approach, puts focus on the therapeutic alliance, and uses assessment and diagnosis to gain a better understanding of a person’s problems to achieve symptom-reduction. She believes our childhood and life experiences impact our mental health and functioning at different phases of our lives. Kaitlyn believes gaining a deeper understanding of how the past impacts the present provides us with an opportunity to increase self-awareness and develop more authentic relationships.

When Kaitlyn is not at work, she enjoys reading, spending time with loved ones, interior design, and shopping!
