Background:
A Northeastern Pennsylvania native, Elizabeth received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Syracuse University and her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Washington University. She is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and couples with trauma, mood disorders, ADHD, and family/relationship issues.
Technique:
Using an integrative approach, Elizabeth’s style is empathetic, yet direct, and she collaborates with clients to explore how past experiences influence their current self-perceptions and worldview. Through the application of evidence-based practices, Elizabeth supports clients in deepening their self-awareness and working toward their personal goals.
Elizabeth has specialized training in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), an evidence-based form of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) designed to treat PTSD and other related trauma symptoms. Through supportive, structured sessions, Elizabeth assists her clients in exploring and reshaping trauma-related beliefs, helping them develop a more compassionate and balanced understanding of their experiences in an average of 12 sessions.

In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys exploring new coffee shops, watching reality tv, and spending time with her dog, Zeus!
Elizabeth Parola, Resident in Counseling, is currently working toward licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She is registered with the Virginia Board of Counseling. Elizabeth provides clinical services under the supervision of the LPC listed below. As a Resident in Counseling, Elizabeth does not obtain or provide services on an independent basis, and she does not independently submit insurance claims. All insurance claims are submitted through Crescent Counseling Center.
