Background:

Carolina was born in Peru but grew up in Northern Virginia and has over 5 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. She received her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Mason University and has worked in a variety of settings including community mental health and non-profit counseling centers. She also received her bachelor’s from George Mason University with a minor in Spanish and a major in Psychology.

Technique:

Carolina incorporates principles and core concepts of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a blend of therapeutic approaches such as a client-centered approach. She also utilizes the approach in mindfulness to empower clients to find relief from distressing symptoms. Carolina’s approach is warm and empathetic, yet direct, and she helps clients through a variety of evidence-based and collaborative approaches that recognizes and respects cultural practices. Carolina is a first-generation immigrant, is bilingual, and is passionate about serving multicultural, intersectional identities, and social justice advocacy.

When Carolina’s at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and pup, baking, and watching old Disney movies.

Carolina Rovira, Resident in Counseling, is currently working toward licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She is registered with the Virginia Board of Counseling. Carolina provides clinical services under the supervision of the LPC listed below. As a Resident in Counseling, Carolina does not obtain or provide services on an independent basis, and she does not independently submit insurance claims. All insurance claims are submitted through Crescent Counseling Center.
