Background:

Avery moved to Northern Virginia 5 years ago after living in New Hampshire for 15 years. She has an undergraduate degree from Loyola University Maryland and a Masters in Psychology with a focus in Applied Behavior Analysis from Purdue University Global. Avery is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and a Licensed Behavior Analyst. 

Technique:

Avery works with and supports children and adolescents through big emotions, while validating those emotions. Avery works closely with children and their families to help shape emotional expression, as well as build strong coping skills. Avery is also very experienced in using Applied Behavior Analysis techniques in building communication skills, increasing independence, and improving social skills in a wide variety of age groups and skill levels. Avery provides a supportive, trusting and judgement-free environment for her clients and families to work through difficult situations and feel comfortable with using new skills.

Outside of work, Avery enjoys spending time with her family and reading mystery novels.
